I’m in the corner with the Mustang. I’ve never been too much of a fan of a neon green Challenger, let alone a Challenger in the first place...

They dropped that awesome slime green color on the new Camaro. Was disappointed haha

It’s a lot of green. But I’m a fan of pretty much all bright colors. I thought I would hate the Challenger, but I was upgraded to an R/T model once, and it was awesome as a GT car.

The boss 302 has enough go fast goodies to make it nearly a track car, I’d go with the boss.

You have to drive a Challenger, they handle very impressively. On the street you’ll be hard pressed to overcome they’re grip, even in Hellcat form.

That is what it would boil down to. Challenger would be better for touring, the Boss for a Sunday drive

Mustang. Faster, lighter, and better handling than the Challenger.

Edit: A legit Boss 302 is not worth what they are asking.

My coworker’s Charger Hellcat feels like it handles on rails, but that Boss 302 was bred for road racing.

Some of the roads around here are bad. The coilovers on my Miata were hard to DD. I wouldn’t want to go thru that again. But, the 302 has a cool factor that might make it worth it.

If I was actually buying one, It would be the boss 90% of the time. But sometimes you want soft ride and a lazy 485 HP haha

It would be hard to convince myself out of the overall package that is the 302, but for a DD or GT car, the Challenger can’t be beat. Plus the whole 485 HP thing :D

This choice would be impossible for me. The large muscle car challenger is highly tempting (especially with the shaker scoop), but the Boss was something I used to dream about (before I realized the price isn’t coming down with age).

If they were local, I totally would. I really do like both cars, but for different reasons. I would probably pick the Boss 90% of the time, but the Challenger would be better in 90% of the situations it would see. When I ever do decide to get a new(er) car, it’s going to be impossible to figure out what I want haha.

I had a rental with the V6 and 8(?) speed auto. That thing was a hoot. 335 HP is more than adequate and the paddles worked pretty well. It even had a gimmicky throttle blip when you shifted. That said, a manual would be better haha

I got that impossible feeling right now, I’m ready to replace my car for something either more fun or more useful (or ideally both).

There’s plenty of options above my modest budget, but not a whole lot that falls within my budget and matches my needs and wants. I’m even starting to wonder if a half ton truck would be entertaining to drive.

The Boss 302, not only is it more collectable. It has heritage and a racing pedigree that the Challenger lacks (see Continental Tire competition circa 2012). Additionally, it is one of my favorite cars.

I’m leaning towards Dodge with the Hemi. V8 and RWD are high on my list of wants, and I can find them all day for under $10k. Shame they’re so huge and heavy though.

Maybe you could find a SRT-10 in your price range? I’ve ridden in one, they’re mind breaking for how fast something so massive can travel.

I always think about the SRT-10. They are getting old though. And when I do decided to buy something in like 3 years, they will be 15+ years old. I will probably want something new and shiny by then.

Boss, but I’d rather have a current GT in Guard (...mmmmmmmm... Guarrrrrrd) with a tan interior. Nothing against the Boss, but driving new vs old back-to-back really illustrates how much more evolved the newer ones are.

Agreed, it’s a great all-around package.

My one critique with the 2015+ models is that the reverse light is so low (not unheard of, other European cars have it) so that higher vehicles (like crossovers) can’t always see it. I know they did it to stay within Euro compliance, but why not (also?) have them in the tail lamp clusters like the last generation?

The question would be what are your plans for this car?

The Challenger is a great package. It will be extremely comfortable for daily use. It offers handling a car it’s weight should never achieve. They perform very well for daily/weekend duty.

The Mustang will be a faster car overall. But you will sacrifice comfort and daily ability to do so.

At this point in the game, the Challenger and the Mustang are no longer in the same class. The Mustang is leaning heavily into sports car category, where the Challenger keeps it’s muscle appeal while leaning more towards a GT.
